Generational Trauma: The Effects on the Brain & Pathways to Healing
On April 10, 2025, Parker’s Hope for Mental Wellness hosted a transformative session titled “Generational Trauma: The Effects on the Brain & Pathways to Healing” as part of the 7th Annual Oklahoma Social Work Summit. This pivotal workshop, led by esteemed clinicians Carolyn Burns, MSW, LCSW, and Latia Parker, MA, LPC-S, LADC, brought together mental health professionals and community advocates to explore the enduring impact of trauma across generations and to discuss actionable strategies for healing.
“It was an honor to present at the Oklahoma Social Work Summit in Owasso at the Tulsa Technology Center alongside Carolyn Burns, LCSW-S. Together, we had the privilege of addressing trauma through a multidimensional lens—sharing insights, promoting healing, and equipping fellow professionals with practical tools to support the communities we serve. As clinicians, it is always a joy to collaborate and contribute to meaningful conversations that foster growth, resilience, and lasting impact.”
